1. Language Knowledge — 50 marks

(i) General Hindi — 30 marks

• Sandhi and sandhi vichchhed.
• Samas (compound words).
• Prefixes (upsarg) and suffixes (pratyay).
• Synonyms and antonyms.
• Difference in meaning between word pairs (shabd yugm ka arthbhed).
• One meaningful word for a phrase.
• Word correction (shabd-shuddhi).
• Sentence correction (vakya-shuddhi).
• Idioms and proverbs.
• Technical terminology (paribhashik shabdavali).

(ii) English — 20 marks

• Questions based on grammar (Senior Secondary exam level).
• Multiple choice questions based on a paragraph.

2. Mathematics — 40 marks

• Decimals and fractions.
• Percentage.
• Ratio and proportion.
• Average.
• Interest.
• Profit and loss.
• Discount.
• Mensuration (perimeter).
• Time and distance.
• Ratio and time.
• Partnership.
• Payment in instalments.
• Compound interest.
• Rate of growth and decay.
• Factorisation of polynomials.
• HCF and LCM of polynomials.
• Linear equations in two variables.
• Measures of central tendency.
• Mean deviation.
• Quadrilateral, circle, arc and the angle subtended by it.
• Geometric constructions.

3. General Knowledge — 20 marks

(i) Current Affairs — 10 marks

• Major current issues and events at international, national and state level, and the organisations, institutions and personalities connected with them.

(ii) General Science — 10 marks

• Questions of general science based on day-to-day experience and observation, testing scientific understanding and judgement.
• These also include questions that test knowledge of electronics, telecommunication, satellites and similar matters.

4. Geography and Natural Resources — 30 marks

• Broad geographical regions of the world, important places, rivers, mountains and continents.
• Environment and wildlife of India, ecology.
• Geographical landscape of Rajasthan — weather, vegetation, types of soil, geographical regions, human resources, problems of population, unemployment, poverty, famine and drought, the expanding desert.
• Natural resources of Rajasthan — minerals and mines, forests, land, water, livestock wealth, wildlife and forest conservation.
• Energy problems; conventional and non-conventional sources of energy.

5. Agriculture and Economic Resources with reference to Rajasthan — 30 marks

• Food and commercial crops of Rajasthan; agro-based industries.
• Major irrigation and river valley projects; wasteland and drought area development projects; the Indira Gandhi Canal Project.
• Growth of industries and their location; industries based on raw material; mineral-based industries; small and village industries; export goods; Rajasthani handicrafts.
• Tribal communities and their economy.
• Various economic schemes; development institutions; the cooperative movement; small enterprises and financial institutions.
• Role of Panchayati Raj institutions as per the 73rd Constitutional Amendment.

6. History and Culture — 30 marks

Landmarks of Indian political and cultural history, principal monuments and literary works, the renaissance, national unity and the struggle for freedom.

With special reference to the history and culture of Rajasthan :

• Medieval background.
• Social and economic life and organisation.
• Freedom movement and political awakening.
• Political unity.
• Dialects and literature.
• Music, dance and drama.
• Religious beliefs, folk traditions, saints, poets, warriors, folk deities and folk goddesses.
• Handicrafts.
• Fairs and festivals, customs, costumes and ornaments — with particular reference to tribal and indigenous communities.
