Two rules that are the opposite of Rajasthan CET

Candidates who prepare for CET often carry the wrong habits into this exam. Note the difference:

  • This exam does have negative marking. Every wrong answer costs 1/4 (0.25) mark. Rajasthan CET has no negative marking at all. In practice this means blind guessing hurts you here.
  • A minimum of 40% is compulsory. That is at least 60 marks out of 150. Below that you are out of the selection process, no matter how low the cut-off goes.

A third difference: the paper carries 150 marks, not 300. Each question is worth exactly one mark.

Subject-wise weightage

The board does not announce how many questions come from each subject. All 150 questions are drawn from the six subjects below, which together carry 100% weightage.

  • Geography (Rajasthan)
  • History, Art and Culture of Rajasthan
  • General Science
  • Major Current Events
  • Maths
  • Animal Husbandry — this subject is unique to this recruitment and appears in no other RSSB exam

Standard of the questions

As stated in the notification, questions are set at Secondary (Class 10) level. They test general knowledge with specific reference to Rajasthan — everyday science, maths, social studies, geography, history, culture, art, basic animal husbandry and current affairs. All questions are objective (multiple choice).
