Note: This is a common recruitment conducted by RVUNL for five Rajasthan power companies together — RVUNL (Utpadan), RVPN (Prasaran), JVVNL (Jaipur), AVVNL (Ajmer) and JdVVNL (Jodhpur). One application covers all of them; posts are allotted as per the preference filled in the form.
Rajasthan's power sector has opened 2005 posts in one go. The online application window is short — 5 August to 25 August 2026 — and the selection is a single Computer Based Test with no interview. This post covers what is on offer, and more importantly, which post is actually worth targeting.

Which post should you target?
Most candidates look straight at JEN because the post count is visible — 869. But look at what the paper actually asks before you decide.
Junior Engineer
JEN needs a 4-year BE / B.Tech in the relevant branch. The paper is 2 hours, and 60% of it is Part-A — branch engineering. If your degree is Electrical, this is the obvious choice; 727 of the 869 posts are Electrical, which is the best ratio in this recruitment. If your degree is Mechanical (110) or Civil (32), the competition per post is much tighter.
Junior Accountant and Junior Assistant
These are the non-technical posts, and this is where most candidates should be looking. Two reasons:
- The eligibility pool is wider. No engineering degree required, so any eligible graduate can apply.
- The syllabus is entirely the common part. There is no Part-A engineering to cover. Everything you study — Rajasthan GK, General Knowledge, Reasoning, Mathematics, General Science, Hindi, English — counts for the full paper.
For a candidate starting now with three weeks to the deadline and an exam date still unannounced, the non-technical posts are the more realistic target.
Where the marks actually are
The one section that pays off no matter which post you choose is Part-B. It is 40% of the JEN paper and effectively the whole paper for the non-technical posts.
Within Part-B, Rajasthan GK carries the most weight relative to effort. Rajasthan history, art and culture, geography, economy and state current affairs are a closed, well-defined syllabus — unlike engineering subjects, this is content you can genuinely finish. Candidates from other states cannot cover it as quickly, which is exactly why it is worth prioritising.
A three-week plan
- Week 1: Apply first — do not leave the form to the last day, the portal slows down near the deadline. Then start Rajasthan GK: history, art and culture.
- Week 2: Rajasthan geography and economy, plus daily current affairs. Begin Reasoning — it is the fastest section to improve because the question types repeat.
- Week 3: Mathematics and General Science. Start full-length practice tests and note which topics keep costing you marks.
- Throughout: Since there is negative marking, practise leaving questions you genuinely do not know. Attempt strategy matters as much as preparation.
About JVVNL Technical Helper
Several websites are currently showing a "JVVNL Technical Helper 2026 — 1512 posts" recruitment. That notification has not been officially released yet. Those pages are published in advance for search traffic and the dates on them are marked tentative. Do not plan your preparation around it or pay any fee for it until the official notification appears on energy.rajasthan.gov.in.

Salary
- JEN-I: Pay Matrix Level L-10, basic Rs 33,800 per month plus DA, HRA and TA.
- During the two-year probation a fixed Rs 23,700 per month is paid.
Selection Process
- Computer Based Test, then Document Verification. There is no interview.
- Junior Assistant / Commercial Assistant-II: a typing test is held after the written exam.
