Noun:
A noun is the name of a person, place, thing, animal, or idea/feeling.

(Hindi support – short):
Noun किसी नाम को कहते हैं – व्यक्ति, स्थान, वस्तु या भाव का नाम।

Simple test:
If you can ask “Who?” or “What?” and get an answer,
that word is usually a noun.

1) Noun answers “Who?” or “What?”
(कौन? / क्या?)

2) Proper noun = specific name
Ram, Delhi, India
(विशेष नाम)

3) Common noun = general name
boy, city, river
(सामान्य नाम)

4) Abstract noun = idea / quality
honesty, bravery
(भाव / गुण)

5) Material noun = substance
gold, water
(पदार्थ)

Exam Tip:
Do not confuse noun with adjective.
